Quotes from ARA CEO, Danny Broad:

“Since implementing the tool, zero injuries have been recorded for handling knuckles across Aurizon’s eight east coast maintenance depots. All workers, regardless of strength can now safely participate in performing the task. Congratulations Prescribe Australia, Aurizon and JPC.” said Danny Broad, Chief Executive Officer, Australasian Railway Association.

“Prescribe worked with Aurizon’s wagon and locomotive maintainers and JPC engineering to provide a comprehensive solution that would manage the inherent workplace risk and well as personal injury risk.”

About the Safety Award

Safety in rail is paramount and the industry prides itself on its strong safety record. Companies across Australia and New Zealand are implementing world class safety strategies and developing new technologies to ensure rail operations are safe and reliable.

The Safety Award aims to recognise this important work and promote rail’s efforts to remain as efficient, effective and safe as possible.

This award is proudly sponsored by our platinum sponsor Metro Trains Australia and the award will be presented by Managing Director, Andrew Lezala.

About the Australasian Rail Industry Awards:

The 2019 Australasian Rail Industry Awards Gala Dinner is the rail industry’s premier event recognising outstanding achievements by individuals and organisations across Australia and New Zealand. Held at The Sydney Four Seasons Hotel, with over 500 people in attendance, including CEOs and industry representatives from passenger and freight operators, track managers, manufacturers, suppliers and consultants as well as emerging young talent from the industry.

This year over 120 nominations were received in the 13 categories, all of which have been of a particularly high standard, making the selection process incredibly difficult for the judging panel.

The award judges included: Rob Mason, Chair Transport Heritage NSW and Director of the TrackSAFE Foundation, Jane Lavender-Baker, Group Executive Corporate Affairs and People at the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), David Edwards, Managing Director of Australasian Transport Risk Solutions (ATRS).
